TRANSITION TO THE NEW STANDARD ISO/IEC 17025:2017
The new standard ISO/CEI 17025:2017 has been issued in November 2017 and replaces the standard ISO/IEC 17025 :2004. The main changes in the 2017 version with respect to the 2005 version are highlighted in the attached presentation.
The European and international accreditation organizations (EA and ILAC) have decided that all accredited laboratories need to comply with the requirements of ISO/CEI7025:2017 at the latest 3 years after the publication date , which means before the 1ST OF DECEMBER 2020. From that date on an accreditation according to the standard ISO/CEI 17025:2005 will cease to be valid.

Workshop on “Uncertainty in Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis”
The Pancyprian Union of Chemists (Division of Quality Assurance) invites you to the Eurachem Week 2017 in Nicosia, Cyprus during the week 29th May- 3rd June 2017. The week will start with a two-day Workshop on “Uncertainty in Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis” to be followed by a day devoted to meetings of Working Groups of Eurachem.
The Executive Committee meeting and the General Assembly will be held on the 1st and 2nd June. On the 3rd June a trip to Pafos, the Cultural Capital of Europe 2017 will be organised for those who can spare an additional day. 3. Online course ‘Estimation of Measurement Uncertainty in Chemical Analysis
We hereby would like to inform you that the registration is now open for the online course ‘Estimation of Measurement Uncertainty in Chemical Analysis’, which will take place from 2nd March to 12th April 2015.
The course gives the main concepts and mathematical apparatus of measurement uncertainty estimation and explains in detail two principal approaches to measurement uncertainty estimation – the ISO GUM modeling approach (the “bottom-up” approach) and the single-lab validation approach as implemented by Nordtest (the “top-down”) approach.
The course is free of charge and is open to both students and laboratory practitioners.
