Professor Ari Koskinen has been appointed President of the IUPAC Division of Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry for the next two years, and he is helping to raise awareness in Finland of an international video competition aimed at undergraduate students.

The competition invites undergraduate students worldwide—working individually or in pairs—to create a 1–3 minute video demonstrating how chemistry can contribute to human wellness and environmental sustainability. Videos must include an introductory screen and end credits in the required format, English subtitles, and a resolution between 720p and 1080p in MP4 or MOV format. Submissions will be evaluated based on scientific content, structure, creativity and originality, production quality, and overall impact, and participants must provide an automated confirmation of their student status from their university. Videos must be uploaded using the hashtags #howchemcan #videocompetition #IUPAC.
