As you may know, IUPAC announced in a Press Release the Verification and Assignment of Elements 113, 115, 117 and 118.  We hope you will take this opportunity to celebrate this grand event, as the Periodic Table of Elements is of interest to not only Chemists and Physicists, but the general public. This is also a great opportunity to stimulate awareness and promote the Chemical Sciences in all our countries.  The January issue of Chemistry International will feature Prof. Corish’s article on the Naming of Elements, which many will find interesting and is very timely.  The Naming of Elements will be Phase 2 of the process and will follow the publication of the Technical Reports in PAC (February 2016).
