1 § The Section for Computational Chemistry functions under the Finnish Chemical Society and its name is Section for Computational Chemistry (in Swedish Sektionen för datorstödd kemi, in Finnish Laskennallisen kemian jaosto).
2 § The aim of the Section is to bring together people and organizations applying computational chemistry in their research and teaching on a national level. The Section pursues actions in education, publicity, and publication, shares information and aims to raise awareness in computational chemistry. The Section also collaborates on both national and international level in the field of computational chemistry.
3 § Members of the Finnish Chemical Society and those that are interested in computational chemistry can be accepted as members of the Section.
4 § The Section is led by the board which is selected among the members of the Section. The board consists of the chairperson, secretary (who is also the treasurer) and 2-4 members. The board is selected in the annual meeting for one year at a time. The chairperson and secretary have the right to sign for the Section.
5 § Any changes to the rules are decided in the annual meeting. The annual meeting has a quorum when more than three members of the Section are present.
6 § Regarding other matters, the rules of the Finnish Chemical Society are followed.
These rules were originally accepted in the annual meeting on 13th December 2004 and they were updated in the annual meeting on 12th December 2018. The rules were translated in English in Autumn 2021.
