The Section for Computational Chemistry is a section of the Finnish Chemical Society, and it brings together people working with various computational chemistry methods in Finland. In the field of computational chemistry, structures and qualities of molecules and materials and chemical and physical phenomena are studied using theoretical methods utilizing computers. The Section is mainly oriented in research.

The aim of the Section is to provide a platform for researchers in the field to collaborate, promote the work of the members and familiarize computational methods to both experimental researchers and the general public. Research topics of the members span into several disciplines of chemistry (for example nanoscience, catalysis, spectroscopy and development of computational methods). More information on the current topics can be found on each research group’s website.

Welcome to the fascinating world of computational chemistry!
